so I've got the movies - let's move on to photographers.
There was a time in my life where I lived and breathed photography - I so aspired to have a show and found myself looking through the lens of a camera even when I wasn't holding a camera up to my eye. I would still love to have a show but keep thinking of what I'd wear to my opening and to be honest with you I'm stumped - I have nothing appropriate - so the show is on hold for the time being - whatever!
Here is a list of some of my favorite photographers:
Diane Arbus
Cindy Sherman
Bettina Rheims
Ansel Adams
Annie Liebovitz
Joel-Peter Witkin
I love photographing doors / entrance ways - I find them facinating - I managed to get some marvelous shots in China and perhaps will create an album and post some shots - perhaps.

things I like
So I started using facebook - not quite sure why - I'll get back to you on that one - I can't say I'm getting much from it - first of all I'm totally addicted to reading the profile of people I don't know - or used to know - or kind of know - or don't really know but don't like and am curious to know what makes me not like them - so I secretly read their profiles - and really - the people I wonder about why I don't like - well it all really comes out in their profiles. Anyways - I feel very sneaky paruising peoples profiles without them knowing it. I searched my cousins for some strange reasons - I don't have many cousins I like - but found myself searching them - perhaps because I had exhausted all the friends searches - I found my cousins kids' facebook pages and that just freaked me out - I felt super weird!
Anyhow - aside from being a voyeaur - the only other aspect of Facebook I found myself drawn to was talking about my interests - I really got into the groove of that - so I thought my blog would be a much better forum for expressing my interests.
So I'll start with movies - you gotta know - I LOOOOOOVE movies - but not just anything - I find I dont like Canadian films and can smell them from a mile away - they have a very distinctive crappy feel to them.
So here's a list that I've basically cut and paste from my facebook page. Of course there are plenty more than what I've listed here - but this is just a start - perhaps if I could figure out how to use this blogg format I will add to it. These are movies I've seen which have left somewhat of an impression on me - or evoked some emotion at the time of viewing - some evoked emotion following the viewing - at any rate - these movies had an impact on me. Of course not all movies listed are creative art pieces - some are hollywood trash - others classics - and others art pieces - but all are masterpieces in their own way:
Carlito's Way
Bridges of Madison County
Heat
Raging Bull
Eyes Wide Shut
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Lost in Translation
She's gotta have it - just about anything by Spike Lee
Annie Hall
The Squid and the Whale
21 Grams
Amores Perros
Babel
Alejandro González Iñárritu is a genius!
City of God
The Assassination of Richard Nixon
The Night of the Iguana
Ginger e Fred
La Strada
